White Lion And Lightning Bird

Animals play a central role in African mythical stories; for instance, in the Sacred Forest in the Soutpansberg mountains near Louis Trichardt, two mythical creatures keep guard, namely the white lion (the spirit of Nethathe an important chief) and the thunder and lightning bird called Ndadzi, which it’s believed flies on the wings of thunder.

Cape Town

On arrival at Cape town, meet and greet with your local english-speaking driver/guide and check in to your hotel. Options for stay include the The Table Top Hotel, situtated in the heart of the city near Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with magnificent views over the bay to Robben Island, and inwards to the city and the iconic outline of Table Mountain.
Later in the day, start your exploration with a short walk to The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Built by Prince Alfred, second son of Queen Victoria, in 1860. The first basin was named after himself, the second after his mother, hence the name. Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain and set against a backdrop of sea and mountain views, it offers a variety of shopping and entertainment options in the marina. It houses the Nelson Mandela Gateway which offers boat trips to Robben Island, as well as the Two Oceans Aquarium.

Cape Town

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing in and around Cape Town. Cape Town with its many historic buildings, places of interest, beaches and tourist attractions is often compared to metropoles such as Rio De Janeiro or Sydney and without doubt can be described as one of the most beautiful cities on our planet with the city’s most famous landmark, majestic Table Mountain on the background.
Start with the Castle of Good Hope, Company Gardens with its many historical buildings, drive past the parliament buildings, stop at the Greenmarket Square flea market, visit the S.A. Museum and take a drive through the city’s Cape Malay Quarters.
Weather permitting, visit the Table Mountain and ascend by cable car to the upper cable car station, 1.086 meters above sea level. From here you can enjoy unsurpassed views across the suburbs of Green Point, Sea Point and all the way to the busy harbour and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Next stop after lunch will be the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch was founded in 1913 and grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest.

Cape Town

Today take the coastal road for Muizenburg and Simon’s Town. Stop at Boulders Beach to visit the resident penguin colony before entering the world famous Cape Point Nature Reserve. Stop at the Cape of Good Hope where you might want to take some pictures witnessing that you have in fact visited one of the earth’s stormiest corners.
Then continue to Cape Point, a rocky outcrop of land reaching far into the ocean. Having ascended to the highest point by funicular you may enjoy the breathtaking view across the lighthouse where the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet.
Next stop is at Cape Point Ostrich Farm. Meet with the farm’s expert tourguides and get a comprehensive tour of the farm. Watch these strange birds from close range and find out a lot of interesting facts about raising these funny creatures, about their breeding habits and the commercial use of the meat and the skin once the bird has been slaughtered.
Later in the afternoon continue along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of South Africa’s most breathtaking coastal roads which will lead us to the town of Hout Bay. Located in a sheltered bay on the Atlantic Ocean this village in its mountainous setting is the home port for a fleet of fishing vessels. Upon arrival at Hout Bay Harbour we will be boarding one of the passenger vessels and embark on a short boat cruise to Seal Island, a gigantic rock in the middle of the ocean and home to thousands of seals and sea birds. Having returned to the harbour some 45 minutes later, there will be sufficient time for you to explore the place which in winter, when the snoek are in season, is a scene of considerable activity.
By late afternoon, return to Cape Town along the coastal route via the upmarket suburb of Llandudno and along the magnificent beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton. Should you wish to have dinner in an upmarket -and at the same time- typical "African Theme Restaurant", we suggest you visit either "Africa Cafe" or "Mama Africa Restaurant".
After dinner, stop by the Signal Hill from where you can enjoy a great view of Cape Town's city lights.

On arrival at Sun City's Lost City, check in to your hotel.
Options to stay include the impressive "The Palace Hotel". The Palace of the Lost City ranks as one of the world's most lavish hotels. The lodge management will also tell you about the activities on offer and will accompany you on a short familiarization tour around the lodge and along the public areas.
Lukimbi is a stunning luxury lodge situated in the easily accessible southern portion of the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Kruger is home to the Big Five and a wide variety of other animals and birds, which roam freely in their natural habitat.
After settling in, your game ranger will ask you to climb aboard an open safari vehicle, and introduce you to his local tracker before you will have to listen to a quick safety briefing. And then you are off to the bush on your first African Safari!
Lukimbi Safari Lodge is located in a private concession within the Kruger National Park. This will guarantee you a personalized, upmarket and in depth safari experience, away from the main tourist centres and government-run rest camps. The lodge's vehicles exclusively traverse within this concession area and no other vehicles are allowed on the land.
The afternoon will be spent game viewing, looking out for the park’s more common species such as wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, baboons, monkeys and a large number of antelope. It will normally take some time and luck to spot the park’s more elusive creatures such as cheetah, wild dog, crocodlie, hippo and some of the smaller species of the cat family.
However, the major attraction why many people from all over the world visit Kruger National Prak is the unique opportunity to view Africa’s Big Five in one single national park. The thrill of close up encouters with elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion and leopard is an experience that will remain with you for a lifetime.
Enjoy one of Africa's unforgettable sunsets whilst sipping "sundowners" in the middle of this vast wilderness area. After dark your tracker will make use of a powerful spotlight, affording you the opportunity to look out for the many nocturnal creatures one would normally not see during the day.
Enjoy a nightcap around the fire, under the starry African skies, before retiring to your luxury suite.

Kruger National Park

Its yet another day of incredible African Safari. Your game ranger will make sure that you will be up early in the morning so you won't miss your game drive.
Shortly after sunrise you will depart from the lodge by open safari vehicle; always under the supervision of your experienced and knowledgeable game ranger, and venture deeper into the park along the many dirt tracks. This is an ideal opportunity to learn some interesting facts about the park, its smaller animals and insects, about the different landscapes & ecosystems and about the indigenous vegetation.
Later in the afternoon guests once again meet for high tea and then you are treated to another safari outing in the lodge's open 4x4 verhicles. All vehicles are in radio contact with each other and your game ranger will always be up to date with regards to those extraordinary sightings, so you certainly won't miss out on anything happening in the reserveOnce again the sunset can be enjoyed at an idyllic spot within the park and you can quench your thirst sipping a gin & tonic or any other drink from your vehicle's very own mobile minibar.

Kruger - Johannesburg

Once again your game ranger will make sure that you will be woken up very early should you wish to partake in todays early morning safari activity. This will be your last opportunity to partake in another early morning game drive but should you prefer to sleep in a little longer noone will hold that against you, just advise your game ranger of your intentions the previous night.
After the morning safari and check out, you will be exiting Kruger National Park via Malelane Gate, the park's southernmost gate. Drive in the westerly direction to the city of Nelspruit.
