If experiencing Sahara Desert is the priority for you, then this is the trip you must make. This trip takes you right to the Merzouga sandy dunes. The impressive, drifting chain of sand dunes that can reach 160m. This trip is more to do with the Berber villages and their lifestyles best experienced in the Bedouin tents sleeping under the million stars. Imagine, they do this every day! The Berber people are peaceful, hospitable people who welcome you to their world and share the glory of Sahara at every turn.
Arrive at Marrakech Menara airport and check in to your hotel with assistance from our staff.
Today is the day you spend in magical, high energy Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city, also called "the pearl of the south." Start with the Menara Garden, then move on to the Saadien Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia and the Dar Si Said Museum. Stop for a short lunch. Start the treasure hunt in the afternoon in the souks and handicraft quarters.
A must do exploration is at the Jamaa El Fna. It means ‘the mosque at the end of the world’, as glorious as the mosque is, the real treat awaits at the famous square in front of the mosque. The energy you find in this place is like nowhere else in the world. Magicians, dancers, story tellers, snake charmers, food stalls, the Henna artists, the tea stalls, the musicians the drummers. Everyday, everything changes- the sight, sounds, smells and tastes. It will be a memory you hold for life!
Close the day at the famous Djemaa El Fna or Chez Ali with its non stop entertainment showcasing the various skills and entertainment of 7 regions of Morocco.
Head to Ait Benhaddou through Tizi N’tichka pass (2260m of altitude). Visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage kasbah that has served as decor for many great movies. Continue through the Zagora crossing to the Draa valley.
Today leave for Tamgroute, the pottery center and visit the famous coranic library that contains old books and documents dating back to the 12th century. Travel further to Erfoud, via Tansikht and Nkob with it's splendid vistas of pre-saharian Berber villages and the Sargho Mountain following us perpetually. Stop for lunch then drive on via villages of Alnif and Rissani, birthplace of the present Alaouites Dynasty.
It's here that you can also experience the Sahara Desert in all it's glory! And truly geet the "sleeping under the stars" experience. Take an excursion by 4x4 cars to experience a dinner and night under Bedouin tent at a camp site “Bivouac” at the foot of the Merzouga sandy dunes.
The Merzouga Dunes are an impressive, drifting chain of sand dunes that can reach 160m and seem to have escaped from the much larger dune field across the nearby border in Algeria. The Erg Dunes are a magical landscape and offer a scene of constant change as sunlight transforms them from pink to gold to red. It's a sight that will leave your speechless.
Wake up early to admire the sunrise on the top of the sandy dunes.
Leave for Tineghir today, visit of its magnificent Todra Canyons where the rocks reach an altitude of 250 meters.
Post lunch, leave for Ouarzazate via Mille Kasbahs passing by El Kelaa de Mgouna & the village of Skoura.
